Palestine: Combating Misinformation and Championing Truth
[3 Minutes Read]
With all eyes on Palestine by intelligent and savvy people, we're seeing news of:
Fake nurses,
Empty aid boxes,
Tunnels under hospitals
These are all claims by the Zionists, that no one will believe. And we genuinely wonder.
Are they that stupid?
Do they think we are stupid?
Or is it a strategy by the Zionists
Zionists know that no one believes them. They use this strategy to push their narrative and a "first impression" since it lasts.
They share fake news on what is happening in Palestine and Gaza on purpose… Here is why.
The Internet and social media platforms can be powerful tools for positive change and information dissemination, but they can spread misinformation and fake news equally.
The researchers, Soroush Vosoughi, Deb Roy, and Sinan Aral, found that fake news stories spread faster and were more likely to be retweeted than true stories. Fake news cascades down to between 1,000 and 100,000 Twitter users. True or verified stories, however, take six times longer to reach 1,500 people.
[From the book "The Hype Machine]
So why does fake news travel six times faster than true and verified news? Here are the top 4 reasons.
Influence of Fake News: Fake news often gains traction more quickly than verified news due to its sensational or controversial nature, which appeals to a broader audience on social media platforms.
Role of Influencers in Spreading News: Influential social media personalities can inadvertently or intentionally amplify the spread of false information by sharing or commenting on it.
Economic and Political Implications: It's undisputed that the first impression is the last. Zionists know that the propagation of fake news can have significant economic and political consequences, manipulating public opinion and affecting decision-making for the masses.
An Algorithm is a Machine and Doesn’t Know the Difference: When the fake news comes out, all the comments and reposts, along with debunked comments and captions, are, at the end of the day, "engagement." The machine deems the original piece of fake news important and continues pushing it to more and more people; to many, it's their "first impression" without knowing the verified facts.
Knowing this, Israeli Zionists share this type of fake news that polishes their images on a first-impression basis and entices us to debunk it and engage with it, giving it more milage to reach more people... "impression-ing" more people.
So what can we do? Here are three things to keep in mind:
DON'T comment on Zionist content, and DON'T repost/quote-retweet.
Post original content. Screenshot/record, but don't engage with their posts.
Better yet, write a blog, as it is easier to find when people want to look for the truth in the future.
Don't get me wrong. The points I'm making are not to discourage you from exposing Zionist Propaganda. I'm highlighting them to draw your attention to how unintentionally we can help share their news.
Moreover, I'm saying this to encourage you to continue doing what you're doing in spreading the truth about Palestine and the atrocities happening in Gaza now and to the Palestinians for the past 75 years.
In the age of information overload, the battle for truth is more challenging yet more vital than ever. Every post, every tweet, every share we make shapes the narrative about Palestine. As we confront fake news by a Zionist propaganda machine and seek to right the wrongs in our information ecosystem, let's remember: our voices, united for the truth, are the most potent weapons against the tide of misinformation. Let us continue to raise them loud and clear for Palestine, for truth, and for justice. From the river to the sea!
